    "Excellent" Year 8 Sports Leaders

    Year 8 took on the challenge of leading at our Inclusion Sportshall Athletics Festival on Thursday 18th January. Dashwood, The Grange, Hillview, Hanwell Fields, St. Mary’s, St. Leonard’s and Queensway all came with between 16 and 24 Year 5/6 children to take part in this event which is one of seven events on our North Oxfordshire Schools Sports Partnership Cluster Calendar specifically designed to allow all children to participate in inter-school sport regardless of ability. The leaders were “excellent, they encouraged all the children and gave extra support to those who needed it.” (Primary School PE Coordinator).   • Jump-In for great Attendance

    Jump-In for great Attendance

    Students with excellent attendance were all rewarded with a trip to the Jump-in Trampoline Park in Leamington last week. There was a great atmosphere as we took over the whole venue and rose to all the challenges on the trampoline course! The Jump-in staff complimented our students on their politeness and excellent behaviour, and everyone had great fun. Read more

  • Brave fundraiser for Alec

    Brave fundraiser for Alec

    Lily and Mia in year 10 very bravely shaved their hair at school to raise money for Alec, a family friend, who has the life ending illness Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). They are hoping to raise £1000 to go towards buying Alec a ceiling hoist to help Alec become more independent and less reliant on his parents. The fundraising event, on Monday 18 December, took place in front of students, staff and family and was live streamed on Facebook. The girls donated their hair to The Little Princesses charity, which makes wigs for people suffering from hair loss. Read more

    The Story Museum in Oxford

    Students in year 7 and 8 visited The Story Museum in Oxford. Joshua in year 7 said: “One of the reasons I like the story museum is that they make rooms from people’s ideas; so if people want Doctor Who, they will make that for you. They are not like other museums in that they want people to interact. One of the activities was to look around for rhymes and alliteration around a bedroom – the bed was enormous, bigger than any other bed.” Read more
